After the successful second studio album “Freedom For All”, which was released on May 13, 2022 including an extremely extensive back catalogue and reached number 1 in the scene-relevant German Alternative Charts (DAC) in July 2022, Projekt Ich from Rosenheim / Germany releases with “Mr Crowley” the second title of a series of singles featuring cover versions of songs that have inspired mastermind Ulf Müller since his youth and have accompanied him to this day, on German indie label Echozone.

This time, Ulf was able to get the vocal support of the highly talented Dasha Larks / Pulse Lab from Finnland who already participated in the song “VR Chained” from the latest album “Freedom For All”.

Manuel Trabucco from Italy contributed the expressive saxophone parts for the special edit version of “Mr Crowley”.

The original song “Mr Crowley” is about the English occultist Aleister Crowley and was written and composed by Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Randy Rhoads and bass player Bob Daisley. It was released in Great Britain on September 20, 1980 on Ozzy Osbourne’s solo debut album “Blizzard Of Ozz” via Jet Records.

Why this song? Ulf Müller himself says:
“I first heard "Mr Crowley" in 1985 or 1986. I became obsessed with this song and would listen to it on repeat until the tape exploded. It was just magical. Unfortunately, for a while it was the only song I could listen to by Ozzy. In the GDR, it was not so easy to get hold of the material "music". My old school friend always provided our clique with fresh fringe scene music from abroad. From metal, punk and various old school genres, everything was there. Ozzy Osbourne and his intense, great music is still one of my favorite metal acts to this day.
Looking back, I think to myself: It’s crazy; the grand old master of metal cast a spell over me in the mid-80s with a song about the self-proclaimed "Beast 666", the British occultist Aleister Crowley."

Nach dem erfolgreichen zweiten Studioalbum „Freedom For All“, welches am 13. Mai 2022 inklusive eines äußerst umfangreichen Backkatalogs erschien und im Juli 2022 den 1. Platz der Szene-relevanten Deutsche Alternative Charts erklomm, veröffentlicht Projekt Ich aus Rosenheim mit „Mr Crowley“ den zweiten Titel aus einer Reihe von Singles mit Coverversionen von Liedern, die Mastermind Ulf Müller seit seiner Jugend begeistert und bis heute begleitet haben, auf dem deutschen Indie-Label Echozone.

Als Sängerin konnte Ulf, wie schon beim Song "VR Chained" vom letzten Album "Freedom For All", die hochtalentierte Dasha Larks von Pulse Lab aus Finnland engagieren.

Die gefühlvollen Saxophonparts in der Special-Edit-Version von „Mr Crowley“ stammen von Manuel Trabucco aus Italien.

Der Originalsong „Mr Crowley“ stammt von Ozzy Osbourne und handelt vom englischen Okkultisten Aleister Crowley. Geschrieben wurde der Song von Osbourne, dem Gitarristen Randy Rhoads und dem Bassgitarristen Bob Daisley. Veröffentlicht wurde das Lied am 20. September 1980 in Großbritannien auf Ozzy Osbournes Solo-Debütalbum „Blizzard Of Ozz“ auf dem Label Jet Records.

Warum dieser Song? Dazu Ulf Müller selbst:
„“Mr Crowley" hörte ich zum ersten Mal 1985 oder 1986. Ich war wie besessen von diesem Song und hörte ihn in Dauerschleife, bis das Tape explodierte. Es war einfach nur magisch. Leider war es für einige Zeit der einzige Song, den ich von Ozzy hatte. In der DDR kam man nicht so leicht ran an den Stoff „Musik“. Mein alter Schulfreund versorgte unsere Clique damals immer mit frischer Rand-Szenen-Musik aus dem Ausland. Von Metal, Punk und diversen Oldschool Genres war alles dabei. Ozzy Osbourne und seine intensive, großartige Musik gehört bis heute zu meinen Lieblings Metal Acts.
Rückblickend denke ich mir: Irre, der Altmeister des Metals zog mich Mitte der 80er Jahre mit einem Song über das selbsternannte „Große Tier 666“, den britischen Okkultisten Aleister Crowley, in seinen (Ozzys) Bann.“
